The Old Course

Home of the Lagonda Trophy

The Old Course, established in 1901, is a links style course with a standard scratch of 71. It is the venue for the famous Lagonda Trophy, an international competition for the very best amateurs. Originally, the course was designed by a local professional golfer, W. Duncan, but later improvements were made by some of the most renowned course designers including Willie Park Junior, James Braid and most recently by Martin Hawtree.

At 6398 Yards off the whites, the Old Course is more a test of accuracy than strength. Be prepared for a challenging start as you steadily climb from the Clubhouse and take in the beautiful vista from the Gog Magog Hills.

Reaching the green in regulation is seldom a guarantee of a Par as the greens are quick throughout the year and full of discreet borrows.

The Old Course Par 3's are not always an easy scoring opportunity, with their variety and high stroke indices.
